Intel releases ARC GPUs for laptops and desktop

Intel has announced a new line of graphics processing units (GPUs) called ARC GPUs. The company says that the new GPUs will offer better performance and efficiency for both desktops and laptops. Intel also claims that the ARC GPUs will be able to handle more complex graphics workloads than the current generation of GPUs.

For mobile form factors, Intel offers the Arc Pro A30M GPU, while small form factor PCs use the Arc Pro A40 (single slot) and A50 (dual slot) GPUs.

New graphics processing units (GPUs) have been released by chipmaker Intel, especially for powerful desktop workstations and laptops.

Arc Pro A40 (single slot) and A50 (dual slot) GPUs from Intel are designed for compact form factor PCs, while the Arc Pro A30M GPU is for mobile form factors. These GPUs offer great performance for desktop workstations and laptops.

How Intel’s New GPUs Measure Up Against the Competition

The chips have industry-first AV1 hardware encoding acceleration, built-in ray tracing technology, and machine learning capabilities, the firm said in a statement late on August 8, 2022.

“Leading professional software programs used in the architecture, engineering, and building, as well as the design and manufacturing industries, will start offering Intel Arc Pro GPUs later this year.

Additionally, Intel Arc Pro GPUs run the open source libraries in the Intel one API Rendering Toolkit and are geared for media and entertainment programs like Blender “added the company.

The Intel Arc Pro A40 (single slot) and A50 (dual slot) GPUs for compact form factor PCs and the Intel Arc Pro A30M GPU for mobile form factors are the initial models. A pioneer in the field of hardware encoding acceleration for AV1 files, ray tracing technology built-in, and machine learning are all included in these products.

Features

The Intel Arc Pro A40 will be available with 3.5 teraflops of graphics performance, eight ray-tracing cores, and 6GB of GDDR6 memory in a compact single-slot form size.

The dual-slot A50 GPU is more appropriate for workstations since it has eight ray-tracing cores, 4.8 teraflops of graphics performance, and 6GB of GDDR6 memory.

Eight ray-tracing cores, 4GB of GDDR6 memory, and 3.5 teraflops of graphics capability are all features of the Mobile A30M GPU.

The Intel Arc Pro A-series graphics certifications are for people who work in the architectural, engineering, and building sectors. The certifications show that the person has the skills to use the open source libraries in the Intel oneAPI Rendering Toolkit. These libraries are used in top rendering tools and are good for media and entertainment applications like Blender.

The architectural, engineering, and building, as well as the design and manufacturing industries, are the primary markets for graphics chips.

Availability

The Intel Arc Pro A40 will be available with 3.5 teraflops of graphics performance, eight ray-tracing cores, and 6GB of GDDR6 memory in a compact single-slot form size.

The dual-slot A50 GPU is more appropriate for workstations since it has eight ray-tracing cores, 4.8 teraflops of graphics processing capability, and 6GB of GDDR6 memory.

Four Mini DisplayPorts are included on both workstation graphics cards to support multiple monitor setups. According to Intel, they will support two 8K 60Hz displays, one 5K 240Hz monitor, two 5K 120Hz monitors, or four 4K 60Hz monitors. These cards will be able to conduct games, but their main use will be for business-related tasks.

The A30M mobile GPU has 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM, 8 ray tracing cores, and 3.5 teraflops of graphics performance. The card is intended to operate at a maximum peak power of 35 to 50 watts. Leading mobile and desktop ecosystem partners will start offering Intel Arc Pro GPUs later this year.

What is the launch date?

Every year, there is a computer graphics conference called SIGGRAPH. This year, it is being held from August 8-11. At the conference, there will be demos at the Intel Booth (#427) using Intel Arc Pro systems and the Intel oneAPI Rendering Toolkit.

Target Market of Intel

All of the new Arc Pro-A series graphics processing units feature industry-first AV1 hardware encoding acceleration, integrated ray tracing technology, and machine learning capabilities. The architectural, engineering, and building, as well as the design and manufacturing sectors, are target markets for Intel Arc Pro A-series graphics certifications.

The open-source libraries in the Intel oneAPI Rendering Toolkit are extensively used and integrated with market-leading rendering tools, and Intel Arc Pro GPUs are optimized for media and entertainment applications like Blender.

Leading Partners of Intel Arc

The list of companies that will give Intel Arc premium gaming experience includes Acer, Asus, Dell technologies, Gigabyte, Intel Nuc, LAVIE, Lenovo, HP, Haier, Samsung, and mSi CLEVO.

Conclusion

Intel has announced the release of their new ARC GPUs, which are designed for use in both desktops and laptops. This marks a significant shift in the company’s focus, as they have traditionally been known for their processors rather than their GPUs. The ARC GPUs are said to offer significantly better performance than their predecessors, and they come in a variety of different models to suit the needs of different users. Whether you’re a casual user or a hardcore gamer, there’s an ARC GPU that’s right for you. For more such updates read here.
