Big Techs’ Booby Trap of Generative AI and Web 3.0 for Gen-Z Content Generators

Prologue

Advancing towards the hyper cybernetic phase which involves AI and Web 3.0, there are a lot of questions that have surfaced too. Will AI take our jobs? Will AI take over humanity? Is Web3.0 the best technological revolution? Will Web 3.0 help us to set up decentralized networks easily? But there is still this one underrated question that has not been asked by people who are following the development of AI and Web 3.0.

The question mainly concerns those content creators who are trying to make quick bucks using AI content detectors tools and technologies. Yes, these tools do help us to make our work easier and faster. Yet, people who are looking towards a sustainable future, the ones who actually understand AI propose a simple debate, a question:”Who owns the content generated by AI?”. In this blog we will explore a theory that could unravel the ‘booby trap’ set by tech giants by circulating a flier explaining the benefits of AI and Web 3.0.

What’s the “Booby Trap”?

As soon as the AI based tools were introduced, a sudden shift was witnessed by the whole IT community and they started evaluating pros and cons of those tools. Even common individuals were utilizing those tools for increasing their productivity and proficiency. It was found that Artificial Intelligence tools can increase your overall business productivity by 40%. In China and India people have been adopting AI tools at the highest level reaching almost 60%, and 53% of IT companies have accelerated to adopt AI since 2021.

The concept of AI/ML was introduced after the 1940s when experts tried to build an artificial neurotic connection to demonstrate an updating rule. The rule is now called Hebbian Learning. Since then AI has seen enormous growth and AI experts are starting to understand how to incorporate its solutions into daily life of common individuals.

Yet, there has been a debate that we do not understand the potential of Artificial Intelligence and further development without necessary precautions may cause serious trouble to humanity. There are regulatory bodies who are taking steps to contain the pollution of misinformation that is propagated through various means on the internet. These regulatory bodies have asked the experts to halt the process before successfully unlocking the true potential of AI.

To understand how the trap will work one needs to understand how data is the new currency in this modern world. From AI recognizing your purchases patterns to providing predictive analysis for a business growth AI has come a long way. With the help of relevant data it could possibly reach the heights people never imagined, well the common individuals. So back to the modern world, whoever holds essential data can achieve their far-reaching purpose through utilizing, manipulating, or even owning the data that may be the key to sustainable development. But the big question is still on the timer “Who owns the data that AI produces or generates?”

Why are Generative AI and Web 3.0 acting as bait?

After the statistical AI based techniques were redeveloped using the modern and fast data processing computing machines, the area of AI has seen a big leap. Soon generative AI started to surface and people wasted no time to learn their repercussions. Every online website that was guiding people and keeping them informed about everything happening in the world everywhere was flooded with AI generated images, videos, write ups, etc. Even the fan favorite creative writing sites like Clarkesworld fell prey to the explosions of emails with AI-writing creative stories. It led the owner of the e-magazine to shut down the submissions and request the writers to not opt for AI writing bots.

Just like the owner of Clarkesworld magazine numerous tech-enthusiasts and AI experts have taken time to reconsider the development of AI. They are cautiously evaluating the scenarios and consequences one may have to face by using AI to ease their work.

To explain what may be the end game we need to shine some light on another technology that has been slowly advancing towards longevity. The technology that people don’t fully understand, but the ones who have devoted their time and determined efforts. They are trying to normalize the utilization of it, completely comprehending all the relevant information and practices.

You may have heard Web 3.0 synergized with AI/ML and Blockchain technology will be able to introduce marvelous innovations into the world. So basically Web 3.0 is going to establish a next generation decentralized data enabled network or ecosystem. This development phase of the Web will help people to validate the ownership of data and access it whenever they want, however they want. Also on the other hand Artificial Intelligence is highly influenced and synergized with Web 3.0. Data is starting to become a modern time currency and it also serves as a crucial element for both the technologies.

Since artificial intelligence needs vast amounts of data to perform high end computing functions that help to bring convenience. And Web 3.0 is easily able to recognize the data that is being used over a digitally decentralized network. There is a possibility for speculation here that tech-giants who are dishing out tools and technologies related to Generative AI can misuse the fundamental features of Web 3.0.

What may be the end game?

After the pandemic we have seen how digitalization has taken over the world. At first it was all lustrous and government bodies were appreciating the digital innovations made by Big Tech Companies. But soon the luster wore off and regulatory bodies were established to govern these digital dominance. They realized that misleading technological potential can deviate countries from the path of development. You must be asking if it’s deviated from where it leads, well it leads to profitability but for the tech giants and soon tech giants will have the power to overthrow the government.

One way to do this is by taking our speculations into consideration. Just stay with us and think hard here for a second, we now know that Web 3.0 has the ability to authenticate the ownership of the data. And from the last few months we have seen a surge of promotions on how using Generative AI tools has been helpful to people. Yes it helps people and makes countless possible complex solutions easy, but the question remains the same here “Who owns the data?”.

Using Generative AI tools that are designed and developed by Tech giants can lure in the trap if you agree to their terms and conditions without having a second look. The first phase of the next big innovative updates promoted the use of blockchain technology and now they have moved their focus to promote the use of Generative AI. Subsequently there is a possibility that the next phase of promotional parameters will revolve around Web 3.0.

So once an individual or a user has become accustomed to using Generative AI and they have properly incorporated the use in their day-to-day function. The ulterior move of these tech-giant would be playing with your data and using Web 3.0 to take full ownership of your data. This way they will have all the data they need to play with and process over the network without taking your consent.

Just the perfect checkmate move for the users who are highly dependent on AI to gather data and utilize it conveniently. This data will belong to the Tech-Giants as they acquired it legally through a third party generative AI web applications that common individuals are using. This might be the end game we are moving towards in the near future.

Epilogue

So you must be asking then what we can do to restrict ourselves from falling for this “Booby Trap’ set by Tech giants. The only solution is seeking a reliable artificial intelligence development company who has a transparent process, both in terms of business and product development. The biggest innovation in this modern development phase would be understanding what the technology is about and exploring the roots as well as possibilities. I think the quote “What we know is a drop and what we don’t is an ocean fits perfectly here” and I will leave you to it but please do share your views.
