Glass Onion: A Knives Out, a 2022 American mystery film, is available to watch on Netflix. It is a masterpiece, written and directed by Rian Johnson. Reportedly, it is an outstanding sequel to the 2018 movie, Knives Out, and the second installment in the Knives Out lineup. We call it ‘Knives Out 2’. Let’s discuss the cast of Knives Out 2, who made an excellent contribution to this one-week limited theatrical release. It will help us to know what made Glass Onion a must-watch like its predecessor.
Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc
Craig returns in the list of cast of Knives Out 2 as the Southern-fried detective. This time, he was in charge of investigating a case that needed a little less tweed. Finishing his ultimate James Bond film, No Time to Die, Craig has jumped into the sprightlier role of Benoit Blanc. It was not a challenging transition for Craig.
While reading the script for the first time, Daniel Craig quickly recognized the person the script was referring to. However, this does not mean everything was smooth. Craig had to learn Benoit’s signature Southern drawl, an accent that was adopted in Knives Out 2019. No doubt, Craig is not new to high-stakes murder movies. He played great roles in the past five films between 2006 and 2021. He has developed his investigative skills being journalist Mikael Blomkvist in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Janelle Monáe as Cassandra ‘Andi’ Brand
Being a co-founder of Bron’s firm, named Alpha, Andi returns with Miles. Andi is an outstanding, innovative, and fashionable leader, securing her name as CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Monáe, another cast of Knives Out 2, is well known for her musical career. However, she also made her debut in movies like Moonlight and Hidden Figures. Knives Out 2 marks one of the longest acting roles yet and makes her the foil to Daniel’s detective. The multi-hyphenate has wished to work with Johnson since she watched his science fiction noir Looper. Monáe is also seen in films like Harriet and Antebellum, performing exceptionally well.

Dave Bautista as Duke Cody
Past wrestler-turned character player Bautista plays the role of Duke Cody, who is a ripped YouTube influencer. He believes that acting is not just a side hustle, but she loves acting and always looks forward to stretching. This was her very first film, and the character, Duke, was something exciting to play for.
If we examine his career, it becomes clear that Bautista is committed to his acting career, as seen in the cast of Knives Out 2. He has worked with top directors, including Denis Villeneuve and Zack Snyder. For him, following great directors is a part of his interest in coaching. He believes that if he has the right coach, he could get what he wants.
Kate Hudson as Birdie Jay
Kate Hudson, a cast of Knives Out 2 plays the role of Birdie, a former model who now pursues her career in fashion designing for an athleisure brand. Hudson said that she is in love with the character who is longer than life. She has already proved her excellent acting skills as Penny Lane in ‘Almost Famous’, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Since then, she has been cast in movies such as Bride Wars, Something Borrowed, Deepwater Horizon, and Marshall.
Leslie Odom Jr. as Lionel Toussaint
An American actor, singer, and songwriter made his debut on Broadway. He is well known for his roles in the television series and the movies- Harriet, The Many Saints of Newark, The Exorcist: Believer, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. He played the role of Lionel Toussaint in the cast of Knives Out 2, a well-known scientist who runs Bron’s aerospace firm. For Odom Jr., acting in this sequel was an opportunity to hone his ensemble skills. Hence, he wanted to bring Lionel into the performance to hold his space in the frame.

Edward Norton as Miles Bron
Edward Norton acted as Miles Bron, the tech billionaire. He is the host of the Grecian getaway in the film. Bron shares a complex relationship with every guest and sometimes more than that. There is a reason why everyone wants him to die in the movie, as Norton states.
However, at core, Bron’s guests are still a group of not-so-close friends. We can call is ‘frenemies’. You find that Miles did bring them all together.
Edward Norton, the prime cast of Knives Out 2 has secured three Academy Award nominations throughout his acclaimed career, for Primal Fear and Birdman, in the category of Best Supporting Actor. Whereas he was nominated for the Best Actor award for American History X, Norton has worked with producers such as Spike Lee and Wes Anderson.
Jessica Henwick as Peg
Henwick plays Peg, Birdie Jay’s suffering helper, plays a cast of Knives Out 2. She is at the end of her tether and has been working under Birdie for the past few years. Henwick played this character very well. Earlier, he was seen in television series such as Game of Thrones and Iron Fist, as well as in movies like The Gray Man and Love and Monsters.
