What is Bigg Boss?

Synopsis

History
Bigg Boss is a Hindi-language Big Brother adaptation developed in the Netherlands by John de Mol Jr. It is largely based on the Endemol Shine Group’s Celebrity Big Brother format. They named the program Bigg Boss, and built a house for it in Lonavla for seasons one through four and six through twelve, in Karjat for season five, and in Goregaon starting with season thirteen. With Arshad Warsi as the host, Bigg Boss debuted 2006 on Sony TV. Shilpa Shetty, who won Big Brother 5 and took Warsi’s place as host of the second season of Bigg Boss, helped the show gain popularity.
Beginning with the second season, Viacom 18’s Colors TV began airing the program. Amitabh Bachchan hosted the program in the third season, Salman Khan took over as host in the fourth season, and Sanjay Dutt joined Salman Khan as host for the fifth season.
