Adobe has showcased some of the experimental AI tools it is working on at its Max conference, which deliver new ways to edit images, videos, and audio intuitively. These experiments are called ‘Sneaks’ and include tools that immediately apply any changes made in a frame to the entire video. It is capable of manipulating light in pictures and correct mispronunciations in audio recordings. We have already covered Adobe Express’s new AI assistant. This article aims to identify all of Adobe’s experimental AI tools that the brand showcased at Max.
Project Frame Forward (The Best Adobe’s Experimental AI Tool)
Project Frame Forward is one of the visually advanced sneaks that lets video editors add or remove elements from footage without obscuring them. It is a time-consuming procedure for selecting objects or people. Adobe’s demonstration showcased Frame Forward, which finds, selects, and removes a person from the first frame of a video, then replaces it with a natural-looking background, similar to Photoshop tools like Context-aware Fill or Remove background. This is automatically applied in the complete video in a few clicks.
Users can also add objects into the video frame by clicking where they wish to place them and defining what to add with AI prompts. These changes will be equally applied to the entire video. The demonstration shows that these added objects can also be contextually aware. It shows a generated element reflecting a cat’s movement that was already available in the video. The effort can be traced back to the Adobe Firefly’s effort to expand with new image generators.
Project Light Touch
This is another best Adobe’s best experimental AI tools, which leverages generative AI to refine the light sources in images. It can modify the direction of lighting, which makes rooms look like illuminated by lamps that were missing in the original image. This AI tool can also add dynamic lighting, which can be dragged across the editing part, lighting up and behind the scenes and objects in real time. The colour of these modified light sources can be adjusted that allowing you to adjust the warmth or give a vibrant RGB-like effect.
Project Clean Take
Project Clean Take is another of Adobe’s experimental AI tools, which can change the way speech is enunciated with the help of AI prompts. This discards the need to re-record video or audio clips. Users can modify the delivery or emotion behind the voice of someone, which makes them sound jolly or inquisitive. For instance, the tool can replace words totally while ensuring the same characteristics of the original speaker. It can automatically remove background noises and categorize them into individual sources. Hence, the users can consciously adjust or mute some sounds. This helps to preserve the overall audio while advancing voice clarity.
Project Surface Swap
Project Surface Swap leverages AI-enabled texture identification to choose and swap elements smoothly. This maintains the light and perspective as it is. It can change the look of any surface or element instantly-from a sofa’s upholstery to a wood floor, from an image. It is best for the interior designers, photographers, and those who want to see new possibilities before implementing the ideas into the real world. Project Turn Style
This feature allows you to move beyond flat images. Adobe’s experimental AI tool is an impressive breakthrough that allows you to edit 2D objects as if they were 3D. One can easily rotate, reangle, or reposition elements in a picture while ensuring natural texture, lights, and details. The outcome will be creative control and dynamic storytelling. Project New Depths
Project New Depths, another Adobe’s experimental AI tool allows you to enter the world of 3D photography. This brings intuitive editing tools to radian fields. Therefore, artists can easily change colour, shape and composition in three-dimensional space. It allows editing depth as smooth as adjusting brightness. This is something that flourishes in the next-gen of visual storytelling.
These are just a few of the sneaks demonstrated at Adobe’s Max event. Other notable features include Project Trace Erase, Project Scene It, Project Motion Map, etc. These sneaks are not yet publicly available, and they have not been confirmed to become official features in the Adobe Creative Cloud or Firefly apps. Several other features, like the Distraction Removal and Harmonize tools, which were once started as sneak projects, have a good opportunity to make experimental capabilities available to creatives in the future.
Other Experiments
Project Scene It
This tool helps artists design in-depth 3D scenes while ensuring control over the style of the object. It allows tagging separate objects with reference pictures so their look remains consistent even as they move around in 3D space using AI. Adobe stated that it is a creative tool for developing real worlds with precision and artistic autonomy.
Project Motion Map
This Adobe’s experimental AI tool automatically animates the static images like vector graphics. Adobe stated that understanding the image structure includes movement that feels natural and expressive without the need for complicated keyframes or manual animation.
Project Sound Stager
Project Sound Stager leverages AI to design sound based on the visuals and mood of the video. It can automatically establish layered sound effects which align the pace and emotion of a scene. Users can also communicate with an AI ‘sound designer’ to refine the final audio mix. To know more about this, check Adobe’s new AI audio tools.
