Use Google to Search With Type-in, Image, and Voice Features

The web can be full of flooding information, misinformation, culture, news, shopping, and whatnot. You can find a grand list of things. It is very obvious that you feel overwhelmed by navigating through the billions of websites and trillions of web pages. To get the most out of the search to access the content or knowledge you want, a search engine like Google will allow you to enter your queries and access a wide pool of databases on the web in a format that satisfies your needs. In this guide, we will explore how to use Google to search with type-in, image, and voice features to get the best results.

How to Use Google Search?

A search interface is a tool from which you retrieve the information you want. In this context, we are mainly discussing about Google search engine. The most common approaches we can use Google to search include:

  • Typed search query is input into the Google search bar
  • Voice search query that can easily capture Google search results on a phone or through the Google Home assistant
  • Image search feature to find out more information about anything.

We will start to use Google to search as if you are on a laptop or PC by simply typing in a question. We will then explore how to get the best outcomes, like filtering for news stories. Finally, we will understand how to apply it to other devices.

Use Google Search in 4 Easy Steps

  • Enter google.com into the search bar of the browser
  • Type in your search question into the bar and then hit the ‘Google search’ button
  • You will find a search result- scroll down to find the best you need
  • If this is not satisfactory, try searching with more descriptive words

How to Perform a Typed-in Google Search?

  • Use the Google Search box to enter your question.
  • Keep it straightforward
  • Do not worry about the caps or small letters or the correct spelling
  • Include additional words for context if the search question has different implications
  • You may find suggestions that can save you time.

How to Perform an Image Search with Google Lens?

  • You can also search using an image as a prompt. Searching with images is not like searching for images. It would be beneficial to know about image search. Sometimes, you may find something online and want to know further. However, you are unable to describe it. In that case, you can use the image search. For example;
  • You find an image of a brand and want to know where you can get it
  • You click a picture of an animal and want to know more about the species
  • You have a gadget at home, but you need to know how to use it.

If you have the images, you can easily enter the PC and save them. Then, tap on the image icon in the search bar to run the query. You can find a box that lets you put your image query through

  • Dragging an image
  • Uploading the image file
  • Attaching a URL

You can include a URL to an image that is already available online.

After pasting the image URL, press the search button to start. If you upload a file or drag an image, the search will start automatically. Under each image, you will find information that helps in narrowing down the search. You can click on any relevant image to collect information.

How to Perform a Voice Search with Google?

A Google voice search can be a straightforward and fastest way to find information, especially if you are outside. You can use voice search even on your PCs and laptops, which could be beneficial for

  • Searching for anything you can pronounce but not spell
  • Search for something quickly
  • Search for anything that you may like to hear
  • Do not want to type

To start, tap the microphone icon in the search bar to see the voice search screen. You may be instructed to permit Google to use your microphone.

Next, you can speak your search question, and Google will start performing the search.

Your voice query answer will be in voice format and appear as a typed question in the search bar.

How to Use Google to Search for Different Purposes?

Google Index encompasses a diverse range of results across various content formats. Very often, the search results will display some formats that could be more beneficial than others. If the search results suggest an answer that is practical and includes satisfactory answers, then video results may be favorable.

The query itself and other factors contribute to the forms of results you may find on the results page. This is called Universal Search.

In some cases, you may not find huge answers or different formats. Whereas many search queries end up in different types of results that are useful. To fine-tune the search results, you can easily enable the filter. You can find different options under the search bar, including images, news, maps, videos, books, web, flights, and finance.

How is Google Search Different on Other Devices?

Different hardware devices have different objectives, strengths, and weaknesses. Although there are several forms of devices you can access through Google Search, not all provide a favorable user experience. For instance, a smart TV browser may not support the Google Search experience as you find on other devices.

Some devices remain unknown and are not used widely. However, this is not the same in mobile phones; they are the best way to use Google search from anywhere in the world.

Home assistants or other smart home devices are being used by many for search purposes. These devices are expected to last longer.

How to Allow Google Search to Know You?

When you perform a search, you can find a wider pool of information. If you have a Google account, Google tracks your browsing history and shows relevant search queries. This can affect your results and future searches, making a more personalized user experience. Previously, this could be more passive, but now you can be more active in selecting your preferences by ‘Following’ searches.

If you aim to find what you are sharing, limiting, or increasing, navigate to Search personalization from Manage Your Google Account.

Summary

Google search is quite straightforward, with multiple search features. Hence, you can access a voice search, an image search, and a simple type-in search. However, you should be able to define or describe what you need to get the best results out of the search. This guide on how to use Google to search can help you to understand these features in more detail.
