How to Increase Your LoL MMR as a Mid-Laner

Increasing your LoL MMR is not easy. This hidden number, which quantifies your skill level in the perception of the game’s matchmaking system, can only be raised by performing well in matches and winning most of them.

Because of this, to increase your LoL MMR, which you can find by using an MMR checker for League of Legends, you must increase your level of competence.

Only by becoming a more skilled player can you hope to reach a higher rank and enjoy the game in the company of formidable players. This guide gives you an overview of how you can accomplish this as a Mid-Laner.

Understanding the Mid Role

Playing Mid in LoL is a huge privilege. This is the role of famous professional players like Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and it gives you a lot of control over the game’s trajectory.

During the first 5-10 minutes, you won’t be able to do very much and you won’t be expected to. A good team will always try to give you as much support as possible, especially through the jungler. But after that point, you will be one of the most powerful champions on the map.

If you’ve won your lane, you should be in the top three champions in terms of levels and networth. In turn, this will allow you to farm faster than other champions and deal significantly more damage. You will also scale better in most cases, which means that by the time you reach the 15-minute mark, you will have a very high kill potential.

Most Mid champions are expected to be damage dealers and controllers. Their items give them the ability to quickly kill targets and also trap multiple enemies during team fights.

When you are not fighting, your only job is to farm and not get killed. Against strong opponents, that’s often easier said than done. But if your team controls the map well, warding and dewarding regularly and intelligently, you should be fine in most cases.

Dying as a Mid is much worse than dying as a Support. Whoever plays this role is expected to increase in strength faster than the enemy cores, so you must plan all your moves wisely. If you return to base too often or need to wait for 30-60 seconds to respawn, you will quickly fall behind and become useless against the opposing team.

Without your damage output, it’s unlikely that your team will be able to win important fights, which often leads to defeat.

How to Play the Mid Role

If you’re not already familiar with the Mid role but have reached a reasonably high rank, you should learn how to play this role on LoL smurf accounts. This is such a demanding role that you cannot afford to learn it while competing with highly skilled players. Every move and every decision matters.

Here are three things that you must do when playing Mid in League of Legends:

Choose At Least A Few Champions For Each Specialization

Mid champions mostly fall into one of three categories:

  • Assassins: Talon, Katarina, Zed, etc.
  • Mages: Orianna, Syndra, Viktor, etc.
  • Utility / Control Mages: Lissandra, Twisted Fate, etc.

To increase your versatility, you must learn 2-3 champions for each role and then choose the appropriate one based on the opponent’s picks.

Pro Tip: Personalize your favorite champions with unique league of legends skins – they not only enhance your in-game style but can also boost your confidence during critical plays!

Roam To Support Your Team

Initially, you will not be able to roam because you need levels and farm. But after level 6, you should start to think about ways in which you can gank top or bottom. In some cases, you will need to counter-gank your opponents by teleporting in to help your teammates.

Never roam when you have a huge wave coming in. Always take the time to kill the lane minions first, as quickly as you can, and then leave your lane. That way, you will not lose more than one wave of minions.

Timing your moves correctly can save you a lot of gold and experience, which in turn allows you to win games more often.

Learn How to Teamfight

In League of Legends, the wealthier team doesn’t always win. How you approach team fights matters a lot. If you don’t know how to make good use of your items and abilities, or if you get caught and killed at the start a big team fight, you will lose regardless of how much gold you’re ahead.
