Virtual Vacation is the New Game Changer in the Tourism Industry!

Hey there, fellow explorer! Have you heard of a virtual vacation? If not, let me share with you.  Virtual travel, one of the innovative creations of the 21st century, is a modern way to travel across the world and experience different cultures, even without leaving your home. With the growing popularity of virtual travel, the concept of a virtual vacation has emerged. A virtual vacation is a novel way to unwind and break the repetitiveness of regular life.

The COVID-19 pandemic broke out in an unprecedented time, where home was the only safe place. Try virtual travel- a way to take a trip without investing much or leaving behind carbon emissions. Interested? Let’s discuss some of the virtual options you can try today and fly over the city.

What are Virtual Tours?

Everyone has ever thought of just flying to a place of their choice. Virtual tours enable you to visit a location captured in 360-degree imagery, surrounding you with a visualization of your preferred place. However, these tours only allow you with ‘view-only’ experience, as fundamental interactions are challenging.

Google Earth and Google Maps have half-heartedly achieved this point for a long time. It focuses on practicality over enjoyment. Presently, platforms like AirPano and Travel Leader deliver higher resolution first-person 360-degree panoramic views and 360-degree aerial views of more than 300 locations across the globe.

How to Plan a Virtual Vacation?

A virtual vacation encompasses more than just taking a virtual walk through a destination. If you want to visit Disney World just to walk through the park and look around without going on rides, you should try a virtual tour.

To make a virtual vacation out of a virtual tour, you should include some videos of rides and shows, live camera feeds of birds or other digital resources, and plan some indoor activities. Here is how to plan a complete virtual vacation.

Find a Virtual Tour

There are many tourist destinations that include virtual tours through Google Street View. To check whether a destination has a Google Street View tour, search it on Google Maps, then zoom in and pick up the Pegman icon and drag it over to the location.

If there is a street view tour for the destination, the roads and pathways inside the location will turn blue, and you may be able to drop the pegman icon on them to switch to the street view mode.

Although there are multiple locations to travel virtually with Google Street View, not all tourist places have this option. Some museums and other attractions do not use other virtual tourism software. Search for the destination’s website to check whether they have software.

If you fail to find a virtual tour, you can check a video tour on YouTube. Search for the destination and add the terms ‘walkthrough tour’.

Plan a Walkthrough Route

As you are going to include online resources or activities in your virtual tour, you may wish to plan out the route that you will walk through the destination. This will help you keep everything organized. For this, you can use Google Docs or Microsoft Word to develop a virtual tour plan.

If you use Google Street View, find a great starting point for your location on Google Maps, like the entrance, to drop the Pegman icon onto to start the trip. Then, copy the link to the Google Street View webpage and paste it into your virtual vacation plan. Similar to a visit to the place in real life, it is very easy to navigate your way around when you have a map to refer to. Explore the destination’s website to check whether they have one you can see or download.

Using the destinations map, plan your walking route and write the name of each location you will be visiting to keep everything organized. If you are using a video tour, note down the order it shows you the attractions in.

Add the Attraction Videos

After walking through the route you planned, start looking for attractions at every location. If you are going to an amusement park, check the website to see what rides they have, and if they have any shows, you may wish to experience them. Write the names of every attraction you want to visit in your plan under the area it is in.

Now go to YouTube and search the name of every ride with the term ‘POV’ and the name of every show to search for videos of the attractions and entertainment. After finding a video, add it to the virtual tour plan by copying and pasting the URL under the attraction it is on the Google Doc or Word document.

This will help you quickly find the links when you get into each ride on your virtual vacation day. For museums, aquariums, and zoos, check their website to find whether there are any educational pages to read while being on a virtual field tour. For zoos and aquariums, check live cameras of the animals. You can also check YouTube for any shows and educational videos. You can add turkey in world map, highest waterfall in the world, pyramid valley | kanakapura road photos, virtual image, matha forest resort, travel images, maldives images, makka madina photo gallery, taj mahal images.

Indoor Activities

Include some activities for the kids to complete at home to make this virtual trip more engaging. See if there are any at-home activities or even online games available on the destination’s website.  There are coloring pages and other printable activities for children in certain zoos and museums, as well as articles with activity instructions. Additionally, Pinterest is a terrific place to locate crafts and activities that are relevant to your destination.

Meal Planning

You can’t overlook the food, of course. Look at their online menus and select something you can prepare at home to eat while on your virtual vacation to get the complete experience of a place.

If you also want to take a holiday from cooking, look for a nearby restaurant that offers food that is comparable to what is listed on the website for your trip. Let’s plan for kamchatka, worlds of wonder photos,

360 Degree Virtual Reality Travel

Sometimes you only need a short break from the mundane world and daily life. Take a time-out from your surroundings with VR travel footage from IRL travel streamers or platforms like Virtual Vacation and AirPano.

Choose from the different travel modes for a virtual vacation to witness more than 100 cities from either a walking, driving, or flying view. If you want a virtual travel game, try their City Guesser model that allows you to guess city locations on the basis of the video clips shown to you.

You can enjoy virtual tours from any browser you want, or if you want to move towards realism and immersion, try out an ultimate 360-degree video tour using VR headsets like VIVE Focus Vision or VIVE XR Elite

Realistic 3D Metaverses

Vacations are not only about sightseeing but also about participating in various activities, engaging with locals, and exploring different cultures. The best part is that you do not have to spend hours on end planning travel routes or calculating the budget to physically travel to the destinations. Let’s discuss some of the virtual vacation destinations in VIVERSE to experience virtual travel.

Must-Visit Virtual Locations

Toripollisi Statue (Oulu, Finland)

The Toripollisi status is one of the most iconic statues located in Finland. It was established by Kaarlo Mikkonen in 1987. It is a grand bronze statue that displays a jolly police officer guarding the market square of Oulu. Established to show the influence of police officers throughout the 1900s, this statue is a must-visit place in Finland. You can visit this place and experience the surrounding both physically and virtually.

La Plaza

Virtual vacations can help address the physical limitations of travelling, as this attraction is not a real-life location but a complete cultural experience of one of Mexico’s most popular traditions. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead in English, is a multi-day holiday that commemorates everyone who has passed.

Stellarium

A steampunk-inspired planetarium that takes you on the narrative of the universe sounds like a wacky ChatGPT prompt. However, the great creators who use VIVERSE can establish 3D spaces that one can only dream of visiting physically.

Stellarium is a breathtaking digital world that integrates a mechanical orrery of the solar system, dazzling constellations, and other amazing exhibits that will increase your curiosity. Enjoy the journey!

How to Start Your Virtual Vacation in Seconds?

Virtual vacation in 3D worlds like VIVERSE and VRChat genuinely captures the enriching experience because it keeps the essence of community intact and facilitates social interactions. Just choose an Avatar that represents you, choose the virtual world you can hop into, and share the link for friends and family to join your adventures. However, you can also travel alone and meet new people on the platform.

What’s the Future?

A virtual vacation to the Bahamas to experience the warm sun and cold drinks sounds great, but you are not there yet. Virtual vacations cannot fully copy the real-world sensory experiences like touch, scent, and taste. So, keep your eyes opened for a virtual Bahamas vacation in the future.
