A humanoid robot made by Xiaomi called CyberOne can recognize emotions

CyberOne, a humanoid robot from Xiaomi, has just been unveiled. It can produce 3D visual reconstructions of the world and recognize human emotion. The creature strolls amusingly as well. The robotic device was unveiled by the business on Thursday. It is a new version of the “Cyber” family of robots since Xiaomi also makes a quadruped robot by the name of CyberDog.

The time when a consumer electronics manufacturer could introduce a phone and then call it a day is long gone. The major launch event in Beijing, Xiaomi gave CyberOne the stage after sharing its news about foldable technology. On stage with Lei Jun, the bipedal humanoid robot greeted the CEO and gave him a long-stemmed flower.

In terms of locomotion, the robot doesn’t appear to be quite as advanced as Atlas or Digit, but it is still a promising demo and definitely not a person in a spandex suit.  It’s the most recent indication of Xiaomi’s expanding robotics ambitions, which started with vacuums and later grew to include last year’s Spot-like CyberDog.

Technical Composition of “CyberOne”

Compared to its canine companion, CyberOne is significantly different. It measures 177 cm tall, weighs 52 kg, and has an arm span of 168 cm (Xiaomi felt that this information was crucial to know).

According to Xiaomi, CyberOne can “completely imitate human movements” since it “supports up to 21 degrees of freedom in motion and achieves a real-time response speed of 0.5ms for each degree of freedom.”

According to Xiaomi, CyberOne can comprehend 3D space and can identify people by their motions and facial expressions. It contains an AI-powered “semantics recognition engine” and a “voice emotion identification engine,” enabling it to distinguish 45 different categories of human emotion in addition to 85 different environmental sound kinds. Xiaomi claims that it can provide you solace when you’re upset.

The robot has cutting-edge arms and legs that depend on joint motors, as per the press announcement.

Despite weighing 500 g, CyberOne has an upper limb joint motor with a torque – the rotating force – of up to 30 Nm. The hip joint motor can provide an instantaneous peak torque of up to 300 Nm, according to Xiaomi.

Additionally, CyberOne has bi-pedal motion balancing capabilities that are managed by a self-created algorithm and enable the robot to carry objects weighing up to 1.5 kg in one hand.

The goal of CyberOne

Xiaomi’s CyberOne humanoid robot is designed to detect human emotions. The robot uses artificial intelligence to analyze a person’s facial expressions and body language to determine their emotional state. The goal of the robot is to provide emotional support to people who may be experiencing negative emotions.

CyberOne, Xiaomi’s first humanoid robot, made its public debut today at a business gathering. Lei Jun, the CEO, did the honors. The business asserts that the robot has enhanced vision and can recognize human emotion.

Despite the jokes, it’s unclear what Xiaomi intends to do with CyberOne. The CyberOne, like many current robotics projects, appears to be primarily a technological demonstration, as the business claimed in a press release that robotics is the “crown jewel of production” and went on to describe how difficult it was to integrate all this technology into a single unit. However, the business did state that the technology used in CyberOne would eventually appear in other Xiaomi products.

Estimated Cost of the “CyberOne”

CyberOne, a humanoid robot prototype from Xiaomi, can recognize and interpret human emotions. It can detect the world in three dimensions and recognize people thanks to its curved OLED display front and two cameras. The 177-cm tall robot will charge you between 71 and 82 lakh rupees.

Other robotics to launch in September 2022

Tesla, Inc. is creating the Tesla Bot, commonly known as Optimus, a general-purpose robotic humanoid. On August 19, 2021, the corporation had an Artificial Intelligence Day celebration. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk asserted at the occasion that a prototype will probably be built by 2022.

Most crucially, Musk said it will navigate an “environment made for people” while performing hazardous, boring, and repetitive activities.

According to Musk, the humanoid will have eight cameras and a screen on its head, just like Tesla cars with Autopilot capability. He remarked, “They’re all the same tools we see in the car.”

What does the CEO of MI declare about “CyberOne”

Lei Jun declared his trust in the robot, “CyberOne” by stating,

This is a new development for the company and an examination of the potential of Xiaomi’s future CyberOne, according to Xiaomi, is capable of recognizing human emotion and building 3-D models of its surroundings. Additionally, it incorporates an AI interaction algorithm coupled with the “Mi-Sense depth vision module.” The company claims that CyberOne can recognize happy and sad emotions and can even console a person who is upset because the robot can assess its environment.

CyberOne is outfitted with a self-developed MiAI environment semantics recognition engine and a MiAI vocal emotion identification engine, enabling it to distinguish 85 different environmental sound types and 45 different categories of human emotion, to connect with the rest of the world.

The Cyberdog from a year ago, which marked Xiaomi’s entry into the field of quadruped robots, is now included in Xiaomi’s cyber series.

Conclusion

The robot is designed to help people healthily cope with their emotions.

The Xiaomi CyberOne humanoid robot is designed to detect human emotions. The robot uses artificial intelligence to analyze a person’s facial expressions and body language to determine their emotional state. The goal of the robot is to provide emotional support to people who may be experiencing negative emotions. Does a robot have emotions? This question has been asked for many years, but there is still no definitive answer. Some people believe that robots can have emotions, while others believe that they cannot. The truth is, we still do not know enough about robotics and artificial intelligence to say for sure whether or not robots can experience emotions. However, the goal of the Xiaomi CyberOne robot is to provide emotional support to people who may be experiencing negative emotions. This suggests that the developers of the robot believe that robots can have emotions. If robots can indeed experience emotions, then this could be a very important development in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Even while it’s unlikely that any of us will ever see Xiaomi’s robot in our homes or anywhere else besides a tech fair, it’ll be intriguing to contrast it with Tesla’s impending, a similarly-looking humanoid robot, which is expected to be unveiled this September. The company was established in 2016 with a vision in mind to provide Cyber Security to the digital world and make them Hack Proof. The question is why are we suddenly talking about Cyber Security and all this stuff? With the development of technology, more and more companies are shifting their business to Digital World which is resulting in the increase in Cyber Crimes.
