Why am I Scoring Low on PageSpeed Insights?

What causes such a low score on your website? Well, the first and foremost thing which makes websites run slow is when your Core Web Vitals fail. There are several things upon which the entire functioning of the website matters. 

It starts with the CLS, FID, LCP, TTFB, INP and FCP which are the main ingredients of your entire website optimization process. If those things fail, then automatically that would lead to a very low score on PageSpeed Insights

Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) 

It measures how much the layout shifts or changes without any prior sign. Unexpected changes and shifts also affect the speed of the page. 

First Input Delay (FID)

It measures the time taken by a website when the viewer interacts with it for the first time. This gets affected by Failing Core Web Vitals. 

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)

One of the three core web vitals metrics shows how fast the content of a page is loaded for the viewers. This is one of the main things impacting the score on Pagespeed Insights. 

Time to First Byte (TTFB)

The time between the browser requesting a page and when it receives the first byte of information from the server. This is the first impression the visitor gets from the website.

Interaction to Next Paint (INP)

The responsiveness of a webpage throughout all the interactions on a page. This represents the overall health of the website. 

First Contentful Paint (FCP)

This is the first image and representation of the page which gives an idea that the page is loading. 

Media File Sizes Does Impact the Speed

You need to make your website look presentable to the audience. For that, high-quality images and media are used frequently on the website. If you’ve large images then that is going to impact the speed of your page. 

High-quality media has a bigger size and that would impact your loading time too. This makes the website heavy, leading to a prolonged loading speed.  

Multiple Services Being Used to Optimize Performance

If you’re using a lot of plugins and multiple other tools then it would automatically impact the performance of your website. Multiple tools always conflict with one another. That ends up in total chaos for the website.  

If you’re using multiple tools together then the owner should understand that the page would load slowly. This is a natural thing for a website with multiple tools and plugins. They have the automatic tendency to conflict and sabotage one another.

Slow Website is Equivalent to High Bounce Rate

If you have a slow website the first thing would be about how the audience reacts to it. Just imagine you’re using a very slow and irregular website. How would that be? Would that be an exhilarating experience or a very boring and exhausting dilemma?

The latter, right? Such a thing always impacts your audience’s reaction to the formal website. When a website runs slow, the audience tends to shift to the next web possible result on their preferred search engine. They would bounce to the alternative website or your competitor’s page. 

High Bounce Rate Equivalent to Losing Revenue

When the main audience is shifting to other websites and pages. The main purpose of keeping the business is lost. Your website would be a very boring affair to the users that would eventually make the experience very interactive and futile too. 

Lower bounce rates usually bring more people to your page. Altering a better business module and more revenue. But that doesn’t happen to a website scoring low on PageSpeed Insights. Impact, a high bounce rate always brings lower revenue to the website owner.
