This feature lets the users set up calls by generating direct links to both audio and video calls as well as join an ongoing call. He declared at the time that this function will be implemented in the instant messaging service, WhatsApp within a week. The objective of the new feature is to make it possible for anyone or the group with a WhatsApp account to join a call by just clicking a link.
According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp Call Link feature has begun rolling out to the users of the Android beta version (version 2.22.21.13) of WhatsApp. This evaluates features before they are made accessible to the users. The video conferencing features of WhatsApp Call Link will compete with other applications such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. These apps also have the same link-sharing method to hold audio or video conference calls.
In which version user will get the Call Link features?
Firstly, you must update your application from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. Then you need to keep an eye on the most recent version, that is 2.22.21.83. Once this version is updated, you must check to see if the feature is there in your app or not.
How WhatsApp Call Link will function:
Under WhatsApp’s Calls section, the latest “Call Links” option has been included, allowing users to simply share the link for an audio or video call on other platforms. One can copy the URL and share the link through other ways, or one can share the link on WhatsApp with a specific person or WhatsApp group call on the Laptop and other devices. It said, “You can even select the call type (voice or video) when you create a link for a call, and when more than two persons join the call, the connection automatically becomes a WhatsApp group video call. Additionally, calls made utilising a link are still end-to-end encrypted, meaning that anyone who didn’t join the call cannot hear what is being spoken on it”.
You can specify the call type (audio or video call for WhatsApp) when you create a link for a call. And the call will be transformed into a group video call on WhatsApp once more than two participants have entered. The validation of that generated shareable link is 3 months. After 90 days, these call links will quit functioning. if you want to hold the WhatsApp conference call, you have to create another link after those 90 days. - First, go and select the Call tab of WhatsApp.
- Tap on “Create Call Link”. It will generate the link automatically.
- Choose whether to conduct a voice or video call.
- There are three links available for users. i.e. – Send a link via WhatsApp, Copy Link, and Share the Link. Pick up the suitable option to stay connected via WhatsApp call.
- There are two alternatives available for the user: Join and Leave after clicking the link.

Copy link will just copy the link and let you share it externally via email, WhatsApp message, Telegram, etc. During the video call, users will still have the choice to mute audio and hide the video.
Call links are currently supported in the calls tab on iOS and Android. Block users are unable to call a number by clicking the link.
How many participants can join the call?
However, many users who prefer to use WhatsApp for brief chats would benefit from the new functionality. Previously, WhatsApp group video calls could only include 8 participants in the video conference or audio call. Although upgrading the features of WhatsApp currently, the WhatsApp group call limit can have up to 32 participants for both Audio and video call by clicking the Call Link. This new function is undoubtedly very beneficial in connecting 32 people. It may be used officially for company conversations as well as family get-togethers. Furthermore, a publication announced that the Meta-owned platform, WhatsApp would likely allow their users to add up to 1024 people.
