What’s new in Apple Watch Series 8:

Measure the Blood Pressure:

Apple is still working on blood pressure. Currently, that’s available on wearables like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, or the Aktiia blood pressure bracelet which requires monthly calibration with a standalone blood pressure cuff—Aktiia helpfully supplies one with the bracelet. But Apple doesn’t think this is the ultimate solution.

Heart Monitoring:

Apple has added ECG measurement, blood oxygen levels and notifications if your heart rate is suddenly unexpectedly high or low. It also monitors Cardio Fitness. Apple could more accurately measure calorie burn than rival devices that based this on your height and step length and so on.

Body Temperature Measuring:

This is a useful metric, helping measure stress or improve sleep tracking understanding, for instance.

Satellite Connectivity:

With this upgrade, users will be able to send short text messages and SOS alerts to emergency services, even without cell coverage.

Low Power Mode:

Right now, if the Watch’s battery is low, the low-power mode just shows the time.

New Workout Record Option:

Apple Fitness+ shows no signs of slowing down, with Time to Run and Pilates among the most recent additions to the service. Additionally, Apple frequently adds new workouts that the Watch can measure, so you rarely need to choose Other as your workout choice.

Other Health Benefits:

iPhone Health app may add new sleep tracking, women’s health features, and medication tracking.

How to find your watch:

Follow the little steps to connect your watch to your iPhone.

  1. Press on the Digital Crown of your watch to see the applications.
  2. Tap the Settings icon
  3. Tap your name (at the top).
  4. Scrolling down the list and select your Apple Watch from the list.
  5. Tap on “Find My Watch” and then, turn ‘Find My Watch’ On
  6. After that, pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone.
  7. Turn ‘Find My iPhone’ On from your iPhone.
  8. This automatically enables the Find My Watch setting on your Apple watch.

Apple says the Watch Ultra comes with dual-GPS that works in areas with low cellular connectivity. It could be most helpful while hiking in remote areas.
