Recap of the 2022 Apple Launch Event: iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, new AirPods Pro, and more

The Grand Launch of iPhone 14 was launched by Apple on September 7th in its “Far Out” event. The event was live streamed across all of the top social media sites. CEO of Apple Tim Cook showcased a new line of products along with other executives. Before the launch event, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared a photo of a rainbow over Apple Park while he waits for it to start. Apple revealed a new line of iPhones, Watches, and AirPods, as was predicted.

Apple Smartphones 

The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Pro Max were unveiled by the smartphone manufacturer. All of these will support satellite connectivity, a brand-new function that was originally made available in iPhones. The new A16 bionic chip and 48MP main camera will be included in the iPhone 14 pro series.

iPhone 14

The Apple Watch Series

The Apple Watch Series 8 is a premium smartwatch that comes with all new features. The device has crash detection, improved cycle tracking, and temperature sensors to measure the skin’s core body temperature every five seconds– all in a sleek design which lasts up to 18 hours on display mode (always-on).

The Watch Series 8, Watch SE, and Watch Ultra were also introduced by the Cupertino corporation. Watch Ultra is primarily aimed at sports and Apple claims this to be the most durable Apple watch ever, sustaining extreme weather conditions. Both the new Watch SE and Watch series 8 are capable of detecting auto accidents and alerting emergency services. New health features for women in Watch Series 8 include ovulation tracking and cycle variance.

The Apple Watch SE 2, S8 chip

• A scaled-down version of the Watch Series 8, powered by the same S8 chip. is the new Apple Watch SE (or Apple Watch SE 2).
• The Watch SE 2 lacks the other essential functions while utilizing the crash detection feature from its more expensive siblings.
• According to Apple, the Watch SE 2’s display is 30% bigger than the Watch Series 3’s.

Apple Watch Ultra:

• Instead of calling its tough wristwatch the speculated Apple Watch 8 Pro, the company has chosen another name.
• It is 49mm in size and has a battery life that is double the standard.  
• Apple also promises GPS tracking that is more accurate.

Apple’s new Apple Watch SE 

• It is a toned-down version of their top-of-the-line Series 8 watch.
• It borrows many features from this more expensive sibling including crash detection.
• It loses out on other key points like swim proofing and heart monitoring capabilities in favor of a larger screen size.
• The display has also been increased by 30% making it even easier to read.
• This model comes preprogrammed.

Apple Airpods

Additionally, Apple unveiled the second-generation AirPods Pro, which supports customized spatial audio. With the introduction of touch controls, users can now adjust the volume with only a touch. Both the Apple Watch charger and Magsafe will work with it.

Apple AirPods Pro (Second Generation): 

• New H2 chip, enhanced ANC, and longer battery life
• With the new H2 chip, the AirPods Pro second generation (also known as AirPods Pro 2) promises enhanced audio quality and twice as much noise cancellation.
• The AirPods Pro now has a battery life of up to 6 hours, which may be increased to 30 hours with the charging case.
• New swipe-up or swipe-down movements have been added to the touch controls to boost or decrease the volume.
• In addition, the charging case now incorporates a speaker, lanyard loop, and sweat- and water resistance.

Pricing

Beginning on Friday, September 9 in the first batch of nations, Apple will accept pre-orders for its new iPhone 14, with full sales beginning one week later, on September 16. Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 Plus begin on September 9, and the device arrives on general sale on October 7. Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 Pro series start on September 9, and official sales begin on September 16.
