With the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, there has also been an increase in the number of ransomware attacks across the world. Many groups have come up who are constantly attacking and harassing various companies and infrastructure. Most of these attacks have been targeted towards the health sectors across the world. The main reason for this is that because of the Covid the healthcare industry is slowly moving all of its functionalities to the online mode of service. This mode of service makes the data infrastructure more vulnerable to such cyber attacks.
In recent times, international biotechnology company Milteni Biotec revealed details of a series of malware attacks which occurred in different parts of its network. Milteni Biotec has a global infrastructure which is maintained by more than 3000 employees across the world. Still, there have been incidents of several malware attacks over the past weeks in various sections of its global infrastructure, the attacks which affected the order received and delivery system of the company. But Milteni has assured that all the threats have been subdued, yet the attackers responsible for this have managed to swindle around 1GB of data from the entire network.
