Hi Readers! Nothing, the company known for its edgy designs and transparent tech, has announced a unique addition to its lineup: the Phone 2A Plus Community Edition. The core features of the Phone 2A Plus are still kept, but the design is meaningful and easy to read. This one is a limited edition version, and the product has been designed in glow in the dark and created in collaboration with some of Nothing’s most innovative fans. While a Nothing team created the Phone 2A Plus Community Edition, it was initially proposed by the community and approved by Nothing’s in-house design team; it is part of a larger Nothing initiative to bring the community into the design process for hardware products with glow-in-the-dark phone.
A Personal Vision of Organizational Design
Glow-in-the-dark phone 2A Plus Community Edition can be regarded as a simple rebranding – Phone 2A Plus Community Edition is an example of a new community-based design. The customization is done by contributors Astrid Vanhuyse and Kenta Akasaki, who gave the phone a very phosphorescent feel. The back side of the particular phone has the green glow-in-the-dark material: during the day, it accumulates light and gives out a faint luminescence at night. The philosophies of this back seem to borrow a lot of design loans from the previous phone but with enhanced features. The light strips encircling the rear camera persist in this phone while performing the same duties but with a heightened style in the glow-in-the-dark phone.
Special Limited Edition Now with Reflective Packaging
This version will be sold on Nothing’s website from November 12th for $399, and there will only be 1000 of these units available. Included with this edition is container design by Ian Henry Simmonds. First, there are reflective details with macro image of the phone itself as part of the limited release and the packaging experience.
Bundled with Unique Wallpapers from the “Connected Collection”
This design is not only in the plastic housing: the Phone 2A Plus Community Edition comes with six new wallpapers made by the hardware designer Andrés Mateos and Nothing’s software team that reflect the design of the phone themselves. The “Connected Collection” of wallpapers is built with professional design tools and AI software and make the design look connected while adding an extra level of customization in this glow-in-the-dark phone.
Capturing Light: The Marketing Campaign
Marketing for this special release uses the tag line “Find your light. The proverb “Capture your light”, is credited to the designer Sonya Palma. The slogan precisely reflects the campaign featuring Phone 2A Plus Community Edition with the glow in the dark brand designing the mobile, literally and figuratively.
Building a Bigger Tradition of Engagement
Phone 2A Plus Community Edition is just one of the projects that Nothing started to engage with and include fans. This is not the company’s first attempt to engage people in community-based initiatives; when subscribing to CMF, the company invited the Bambu Lab to explain how the owners of CMF Phone can design 3D accessories that will meet the needs of device owners and make their phones more stylish through the application of ordinary users’ ideas and skills.
