BazarCall Trojan: A Malware Backed by Call Centres

Cybercriminals have started using call centers as a new technique for conducting attacks. The security researchers have detected a new malware distribution campaign named malware. The malware here is a RAT that has the ability to control the PC of the users and the attackers have devised new tricks to achieve their goal.

The operators of this campaign are able to spread the threat simply using a phone.

The attackers start by sending an email containing information about a free trial for a medical service. This email may also contain information about service expiration and tell the user to renew it.

The victim is requested to call the listed phone numbers to initiate the cancellation of the subscription.

The email contains an unique ID which is asked by the call center operator once the victim can call the number.

victims get redirected to the page where the cancellation is initiated and there, they have to enter the customer ID. But at last, the victims are made to download excel or word file that contains BazarLoader malware.

Uses of the internet should be made aware that opening any kind of suspicious document that may reach you through email or any kind of media is the easiest way to become a victim of cyber-attacks. It is best if you access documents only from trusted sources.

The company was established in 2016 with a vision in mind to provide Cyber Security to the digital world and make them Hack Proof. The question is why are we suddenly talking about Cyber Security and all this stuff? With the development of technology, more and more companies are shifting their business to Digital World which is resulting in the increase in Cyber Crimes.
